It is a condition in which the medial nerve is compressed at the wrist in the carpal tunnel arch causing symptoms like burning, tingling, numbness in the thumb, index and middle finger, making the patient to have difficulties in gripping or making a fist. This symptoms typically start gradually but can become continuous as the condition worsen Potential contributory factors include: • Swelling due to inflammation of flexor tendon • Some health conditions, e.g. rheumatoid arthritis • Pregnancy • Injuries to the wrist • Some activities, e.g. playing a musical instrument, manual labor, gripping activities, innapropriate weight bearing or alignment, working at the computer Symptoms experienced are: • Pain often provoked by gripping activities • Numbness and tingling in the thumb index middle and ring fingers • Swelling and inflammation of flexor tendons As treatment I will cover the muscles in the wrist with focus on the tissue techniques to address tight musculature of the forearm, wrist and hand . The whole procedure will include: • PRICE to treat inflammation • Strengthen inhibited muscles in the forearm • Soft tissue techniques to reduce tension in the forearm musculature • Lengthen short muscles • Mobilise fascia of forearm • Check client has sufficient range of motion, strength and proprioceptive abilities to carry out daily activities without developing compensatory movements

1. Reschedule can be done if the appointment is cancelled with more than 24 hours before the time of treatment. 2. Cancellations with less than 24 hours before treatment, will incur the appointment fee. 3. No shows will incur the appointment fee.
