Service Description

It is an inflammation or degeneration of the wrist extensors tendon that attaches to the lateral epicondyle of humerus. This injury is common among tennis players due to poor grip technique, overuse of wrist extensors, poor movement and alignment during tennis backhand. Contributory factors to Lateral Epicondylitis and causes are : • Wrist extensor muscles overly tight • Repetitive flexion and extension movement of the wrist – overuse • Poor movement technique and alignment e.g. during tennis backhand • Use of racquets or clubs inappropriate grip width Symptoms experienced are: • Weakness in the wrist • Forearm pain – which increases when gripping or during resisted extension • Tenderness at the lateral epicondyle Lateral Epicondylitis condition also known as Tennis Elbow Massage treatment covers the muscles in the forearm with focus on the tissue techniques to address tight musculature of the forearm. The whole procedure will include: • PRICE to treat inflammation • Soft tissue techniques to address tight musculature of the forearm • Lengthen short muscles • Strengthening rehab program to wrist extensors • Address adhesions at the lateral epicondyle • Check the strength and proprioceptive abilities to carry out daily activities without developing compensatory movements.

1. Reschedule can be done if the appointment is cancelled with more than 24 hours before the time of treatment. 2. Cancellations with less than 24 hours before treatment, will incur the appointment fee. 3. No shows will incur the appointment fee.
